History & Information
Since 1966, we have cooked with the same respect as our parents and grandparents before us: honest produce, timeless recipes and the Mediterranean always on the horizon.

The story of the restaurant
El Bobo was born from the wooden beach taverns that once lined the shores of La Malvarrosa. One of those taverns passed into the hands of a family from the municipality of Serra, known by the nickname El Bobo, and that is where our name comes from.
We have spent decades in the same place: Valencia's Paseo Marítimo, facing the sea. Here, with the sand just steps away and the Mediterranean light pouring through the windows, we continue to cook as this land has always cooked — with fresh produce, with skill and with care.
Founded in 1966, El Bobo is today a restaurant renewed in form but faithful in essence. The traditional Mediterranean cuisine passed down to us by our parents and grandparents remains the thread that runs through everything we do.

A proper Paella in Valencia
Paella is not improvised. It is the result of years of practice, of understanding the fire, the rice and, above all, the produce. At El Bobo we use locally sourced ingredients, vegetables from the Valencian market garden, meat and fish from local suppliers, because we believe a good paella starts long before the fire is lit.
We work with organic farmers from the Comunitat Valenciana who supply us seasonally, committed to a zero-kilometre chain that respects both flavour and environment. The result is a rice menu that ranges from Valencian clóchinas to esgarraet, taking in creamy, brothy rice dishes and fideuà along the way.
Our terrace, with direct views over La Malvarrosa, is the place where this dish truly comes into its own. Sun, sea breeze and a paella made with the very best of our land, that is what we offer on Valencia's Paseo Marítimo.

An experience
beyond the table.

The Dining Rooms
Our two dining rooms look out over the sands of La Malvarrosa. Spaces designed to be enjoyed without rush, with natural light, noble materials and an atmosphere that invites you to linger. Whether inside or on the outdoor terrace, every corner is designed to make the experience as memorable as the food.
With capacity for 150 guests, El Bobo is the ideal space for celebrations, corporate lunches and family gatherings. We take pride in offering a warm, attentive service backed by a kitchen that works with local and organic produce from the Comunitat Valenciana, sourced directly from trusted farmers and suppliers.

Our Terrace
El Bobo's terrace is one of the finest places in Valencia to dine with the sea right in front of you. Integrated into the Paseo Marítimo, it is a natural extension of the restaurant where the surroundings become part of the dish.
We are open all year round. In winter from 11:00 to 17:00, and in summer from 12:00 to 17:00 and from 20:00 to 23:30. The perfect setting to savour our rice dishes and fresh fish while the sun sets over La Malvarrosa. To secure your table, call us on (+34) 663 264 171 or reserve directly through our website.

La Malvarrosa Beach
La Malvarrosa is Valencia's finest urban beach. Fine sand, blue water and a long seafront promenade connecting the neighbourhoods of Cabanyal and Grau with the rest of the city. A place steeped in history, where Sorolla and Blasco Ibáñez spent their summers, and where Valencia's maritime soul continues to beat.
Just steps from our terrace stretches the sea that inspires our cuisine every day. Because the produce that reaches our kitchen comes from this very surroundings, the fish market, the market garden, the land, returning to the source, quite literally, is part of who we are.
